Breaking news: the Hyperion looks as bad as it fights

I was praying to the concept art gods that some how, some way, the design would be changed to the point that it didn't look like a friggin ass pirate's sex toy. But alas, it looks exactly like the concept art, ring and all. The Hype is hands down the single worst looking ship of all 8 new craft. Guns on its ASS?!?! Why? WHY? Why does it have a pancake in the middle with little dinner plates for engines? The nose looks cool, except for the little side thrusters or w/e those are. The rest of it looks ridiculous. No sense of proportion, no balance. It looks ungainly and cumbersom. Imagine how that big stick is going to look when it bounces off it's target at 1km/sec and flips end over end as it tries to enter warp. The four engines make for a nice little symmetric elliptical ring right in the middle. Very stale/stagnant looking design. Pure symmetry like that makes it look dead. The ship looks more like a freighter than a battleship. The whole concept just turns my stomach. Not saying I don't like symmetry either. I like the bilateral symmetry of the other designs. They're great. The Abaddon is probably one of the best looking ships in all of Eve. Hurrcain is increadable, the Rokh is sexy. The Myrmidon looks sleek and purposeful. Hell, I can even get used to the sailboat that is the Maelstrom. But the Hyperion is just garbage. Because I said so...

I like *ed near everything about Kali: the invention, the new scanning, the WCS nerf, rigs are awesome (well, some are better than others, w/e), contracts rock, love almost every one of the new ships. The Hyperion is the only one I don't like, both balance wise and art wise, and blaster ships are the only ships I want* to fly, specifically blaster battleships. Complaining about stuff that is broken: HP increase, ECM too effective etc. is how things get fixed. It's only 'whining' when you're asking for something that is unreasonable and unnessicary. The points I make are neither. Because I said so...

However, i must say, while normally your posts are a tad whiny, you do back up your points, so i give your props for that. :) I'd like some advice: how do I express my extreme displeasure with something without coming across as 'whiny'? A good start would be not expressing your extreme displeasure with everything at the same time in multiple threads across multiple boards. But each particular facet of the game that is broken etc. needs it's own thread so that everyone can be more precisely focused on the problem at hand. So I'm going to assume that if any sort of warp to 0km is used it will only be GTG.. Which changes nothing about the game only lets them reduce lag and database load.. Allows pirates to roam around high-sec with impunity. You're never going to catch a shuttle/pod with warp to 0. And your catching them with any high percentage now? Maybe one that went afk but if they are actualy at the KB they are as good as gone.. You're taking it out of context. Imagine if there were no more gate to gate instas. Then fast haulers would be more important, pirates wouldn't be able to insta around empire like they do now, targets wouldn't be able to escape so easily by jumping to a gate and leaving, traders and freighter pilots would actually make MORE money because of the increase in time involved, they'd be able to be more efficient than the other guys by moving more stuff per unit of time. Making Eve feel smaller is just bad all the way around. Reduces the epic feeling that it's an actual galaxy. Because I said so...

Hasn't been my experience. lol? I've killed every blaster ship I've fought on test. You go hop in a Brutix and I'll fight you in a Myrmidon, we'll see who wins. Go get in a Rax and I'll get in a vexor or something and we'll see who drops first. Or a Rokh and a Hyperion or Mega etc. I've been on test ever since it was available, testing all the new stuff. I've SEEN rooks with an ECM strength of 18+. It's ridiculous. I've damped targets down to under 4800m lock range from 72km lock range. Without using a Celestis to do it! (or an arazu/lachesis for that matter). I've seen passive shield tanks with something like 250hp/sec regen. It's just silly. Blaster ships are on the losing end in Kali, and so are laser ships. You can't do enough DPS fast enough to kill a target before you're out of cap, and then you die. Simple. Because I said so...
